Why having Defibrillators is a Must in Offices?
Electrical pumps are capable of generating electricity which is then used to run multiple items. In reality, our hearts are almost similar to electrical pumps only in this case, it is intended to deliver electricity to our heart muscles. The heart muscles keep working without breaks by means of pumping blood throughout the body. There are instances on the other hand in which electrical stimulations where our heart fails in creating heart beats. In other words, this is the infamous case of cardiac arrest.
Suddenly, the heart fails and the blood supply to brain and all other parts of the body begins to decrease. For this reason, the victim has high likelihood to die. Believe it or not, a report has revealed that nearly 90 percent of the victims dying from such condition die before they even reach the hospital. The good thing is that, there are AEDs or Automated External Defibrillators which is a big thanks to our modern technology that helps in reducing mortality rates drastically.
But many are wondering on how AEDs work. Well basically, its main function is to restore the normal working condition of the heart. Truth is, even if the patient has to be shock or not, this electronic device could be put into use. Meaning, the Automated External Defibrillator is discharging electric current and reversing uncoordinated contraction of heart muscles. The best part for using AED is the fact that it has a user friendly design which makes everyone quickly understand the mechanism.
In reality, the American Heart Association or AHA has done studies on the US professionals who are working at the moment and made a report related to heart conditions. According to reports made, there are approximately 65% of working professionals who have the risk of dealing with a cardiovascular disease and even face sudden cardiac arrest. And regardless how much we rely on machines nowadays, human resources which are still the biggest asset of any organization. It is because of this same reason why it is important for companies to look at the health condition of their employees.
Just like fire extinguishers that’s main purpose is to put out fire, AEDs are now making its way to different businesses. Free medical checkups are frequently organized and all employees receive basic training using AEDs. Furthermore, there are countless of both NGOs and government agencies offering free AED kits.
As mentioned earlier, our heart is similar to an electric pump and it’s hard to tell when it would malfunction. We can never foresee or predict when our heart will malfunction but when it does, your chances of survival is increased with AEDs present.
